Merit Academy Student Application Form

At the beginning of the month, Merit will send a detailed list of non-Merit Academy charges (in the form of an invoice) of the previous month’s sessions for college advisor, specialists, tutors, study skills, Boot Camp, internship or other services. If you prefer to pay by check, please send your payment in by the 15th (call or email if you are uncertain whether your check will arrive on time). Merit Academy tuition is due 30 days before classes begin.

To automate payments and to avoid late fees ($25), Merit will automatically debit your credit card the day after invoices are emailed, unless you opt to pay by check.

Tuition for the academic year is based on the location and the number of courses taken. All Merit classes have real teachers who teach one-on-one. Virtual classes are 60 minutes (twice per week) for 15 weeks. In-home and on-campus classes are 90 minutes (twice per week) for 10 weeks. Weekly College Advisory sessions are recommended for students to ensure that students are excelling in their course work, extracurricular projects, and time management and study skills. The Enrollment Fee is $250 per course and is nonrefundable and is in addition to the tuition. Twelve-week Internships take place once per week for a minimum of three hours.

Courses will start 30 days after tuition payment is received. Delayed payments delay the start of instruction. Payments can be made by check or credit card. If tuition will be paid in monthly installments, a payment fee will be added. A $25 late fee will be added to payments received after due date. Legal holidays, child absences, and family vacations do not affect the tuition. If your child should miss a class, please call Merit’s office by 4:00 PM the business day before the absence so we may inform the teachers. The teachers will provide the students with assignments so they don’t fall behind in class. If your child misses too many classes and falls behind, they may be required to take make-up classes at $100-150/class. Make-up classes need to take place within 2 weeks of the absences and within the scheduled semester. Make-up classes are only scheduled for classes that were cancelled by 4:00 PM the business day before the absence. In the case of a teacher absence, a substitute teacher will cover the class or the regular teacher will reschedule the class for another time. Should a parent withdraw his/her child from Merit Academy, the entire tuition for the school year is nonrefundable.
