Marine Biology Dissection: Moss Landing Marine Labs; Moss Landing, CA

Merit Academy’s Science program is designed to prepare students for advanced university coursework. These courses are taken concurrently with the Math program, so that students understand the close relationship between mathematical concepts and scientific phenomenon.

Four years of Science are required for graduation at Merit Academy. All students must complete Merit’s introductory courses in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, along with the concurrent labs. Students who are not planning to major in the sciences in college may stop there. Students planning to major in the sciences should then take introductory Chemistry, Biology, and Physics courses and labs at a local college (with the option of working with a Merit tutor). By taking college courses during high school, Merit students can often skip straight to upper-division courses when they enter college.
